We turn life into a performance. Into a test we constantly need to pass in order to prove that we are worthy of success.But think about something.When do you actually feel most alive?Is it when you are your most serious, hyper-professional, “getting everything done” version of yourself?Or is it when you are free? When you are playful? When you are creating, moving, laughing, flowing through your work?The energy of seriousness is contraction.The energy of aliveness is expansion.And here is the paradox: while trying to prove ourselves as functioning, serious adults worthy of success, we often damage the very part of us that creates true success.The part that is creative. The part that is innovative. The part that is unique. The part that is fully, unapologetically alive.Because the truth is — the things you actually want to feel in your life are not serious.Joy is not serious. Awe is not serious. Love is not serious.
